The Zumba classes at women's fitness are amazing! Great music and fantastic instructors. Melissa's Zumba class is the best way to start Sunday mornings! Melissa is so energetic and fun and motivates the whole class to do their best. I always leave feeling so great! I would highly recommend trying this class and any of the zumba classes at WFCC!
I've been going to the WFCC for the past two years and during that time, I have found the gym to be of great importance in my life. Recently I was told that I had a problem with my heart and became alarmed as both my father and brother died of heart attacks and I thought that my time had come. I made an appointment to see a Cardiologist and did the usual tests - treadmill, etc. After the test I saw the cardiologist and was extremely surprised by what he told me. He said there is nothing wrong with your heart - you are fabulously fit and do not have to see me for another five to 10 years. I put all this down to my working out at the gym 5 to 6 days a week. I have been going to the women fitness gym for many years now, and can honestly say it is my favourite place to be. I have tried multiple training centres in previous years and have never felt more welcomed and comfortable at womens. The staff is great, facility is clean and well maintained, there is a variety of machines to use, and is a very motivating and not to mention has a non-judgementle environment. I recently joined one of the special programs womens fitness offers, which is Tribe Life. AMAZING program. This program is designed with low impact exercises on joints, which is great for those who have injuries. But don't let this fool you... Even though you are not doing squat jumps, or burpees, it does not mean that you don't get worked. I have never had such amazing results in muscle definition and overall strength in six weeks. Thanks to the best instructor Sammy, I have been able to slowly achieve some of my fitness goals. She is such a bubbly/motivating person that I actually enjoy waking up for 6:30 am to work out with her. I enjoyed this program so much that I am rejoining in the new year for Tribe Fit with Sammy. If you have the opportunity to do Tribe Life, definitely sign up and schedule your training dates with Sammy!
I really enjoyed and benefited from Rosi's nutrition classes. Upon the completion of the class, I had logged a weight loss of 12 pounds! I had managed to loose some weight on my own, but was unable to achieve my personal goals for weight loss because of the kind and the quantity of food I was consuming. With the instruction that Rosi provided and the support of other women that were fighting the same battle, I was successful. At no time during the process was I hungry or did I feel deprived of food. Rosi's suggestions for better food choices were personalized, practical and manageable. It was a wonderful investment of my time and I strongly recommend Rosi's nutrition program if they are looking for a healthier way to eat!
I have belonged to this club for 3 years. I come mornings Mon-Fri and enjoy the variety of classes provided. The staff at the front, cleaners, trainers and instructors, are all friendly and helpful. This is a great place to improve health and strength, and to spend time with great people. I am also really enjoying Shari's new class - Yoga Dance. Thank you, Cathy E
I have had to cancel my membership at the club only because I am moving out of the area. I was very happy at the Pickering Club. The staff were friendly but professional. Also the facilities were always clean. However the main reason I have continued and visited daily when I was in the city is the Inspiration of your personal trainer Rosie. When my friend and I decided to have a personal trainer help us, we were taken over by Rosie. She adjusted the sessions so that it fit both of us. She took into account my health issues and weaknesses so we both had she same basic training. After the sessions were completed my friend and I were probably in better shape, however weight loss was not evident. Then I realized I needed to do more. I wanted to look like ROSIE. Believe me I have a long ways to go before that happens ,but I am still inspired. Not only is she an awesome trainer, her infectious laughter and joy of life is evident when she is in the gym. I don't have to see her to know that she is there with one of her clients. Unlike some I have observed Rosie doesn't just show you what to do, she will quite often exercise right beside you. I will miss her and I hope she will continue doing for others what she has done for me. Thank you Rosie and all of the staff at the Pickering location.
I would like to say how much I enjoy “Wednesdays Pilates” class with Kat. She is a fantastic teacher who connects with all of us, not to mention funny! Kat works our bodies and also our minds. Each week we learn so much on how our body works and connects. Kat really knows her stuff which helps us know we are working the right areas, which is invaluable to so many of us! I look forward to Wednesday every week! I appreciate Kat very much and all she does for her classes.
It is with mixed emotions that I had to cancel my membership. I am moving and there is not another club location within a reasonable distance from my new home. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge how incredible the Womens Fitness Club truly is. The facilities are always kept so clean and the machines are always in service. The classes and teachers are all so upbeat and while they challenge you they are also mindful of everyone's limits. The staff has always been encouraging, helpful, positive and welcoming. It is with the help of this Club and its staff members that I have not only met but exceeded my fitness goals. My entire life has changed for the better and I can only hope that my new gym will be even half as good as this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you to the entire team, I could not have done this without you. If I ever find out there is a location in Downtown Toronto I will join in a heartbeat.
Excellent facilities and staff. Always feel welcome and everyone is friendly. It is a great gym for women and we get the chance to meet new people and make new friends. The instructors are great especially Lynda. The cycle classes with Lynda and Desta are great as they keep the cyclists all motivated to do their best. The TGIF class in my opinion is the best class on the schedule. Too bad this class can't be offered another time during the week.
I've been a member at a number of fitness clubs over my life and Women's Fitness Clubs of Canada is simply the best. In fact, just recently, I tried another, 24-hour club nearer to my home and it didn't even compare to WFC. The range of equipment is great as well as the class schedule. The club is very clean and the women-only environment is very welcoming. The memberships are very, very flexible and when I was unable to work out, I have been able to put my membership on hold and/or reduce the amount I pay because I simply use it less frequently. It is amazing. The best aspect of the WFC in Pickering is the staff. They are the best. Rose in memberships is so helpful and extremely friendly as well as Christine in babysitting is fantastic. I haven't used the training programs, but I have had conversations with a few of the fitness trainers and they are so friendly, especially Lesa. As I mentioned earlier, I recently tried another gym to see the difference - it was HUGE. If you're in the Pickering area, really, there is no other gym for women that compares. I like the gym itself. The front desk staff could be a lot more friendly. They talk to each other and ignore you as you are leaving the club. This would be the biggest downside to this particular gym. Also, more day time classes would be appreciated. Other than that - the facility itself is clean and is more than enough.
I have been with WFCC Pickering since 2007 and I have no intention of going anywhere else. It is the best fitness facility in Durham, and doubtless beyond. The facility is extremely well maintained, the fitness classes are both challenging and enjoyable. The cardio and fitness equipment is top-of-the-line. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I am in the facility at least 4 to 5 times per week and would come in even more if I had the time. Two thumbs up!!
I have been a member of this gym for four years now and I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is and how much I enjoy going there, starting from the moment I walk in. The receptionists always greets us with a smile and always pleasant when I call the gym as well. The instructors and trainers are very knowledgeable and make the classes fun, but boy, do we ever get a great workout! The gym is exceptionally clean. Always! I love going there so much that I've even referred several women there too, including family members. That in itself says a lot.
